Unmanned Systems in Pocasset Massachusetts a fulltime, entry level Assembler. The ideal candidate will perform mechanical and electrical assembly, inspection, and test processes as documented on drawings, schematics, parts lists, and work instructions, in accordance with the following duties:
  • Solder wires and terminals as required
  • Fabricate cables and harnesses from wiring diagrams using hand crimp tools as required.
  • Maintain work station in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintain quality control on manufactured products and properly logs serial numbers and other data as required
  • Notify appropriate personnel of damaged supplies or equipment that is out of tolerance and follows Non-conforming material process as necessary.
  • Maintain the ability to fabricate assemblies from work instructions, blue prints, parts lists, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform inspection of all assembly and sub-assemblies as required.
  • Assemble components accurately, thoroughly, and efficiently to provided specifications and drawings
  • Pay close attention to safety procedures as defined by Hydroid.
  • Understand the concepts of lean manufacturing.
  • Pack and labels equipment cases per packing lists and work instructions for shipment to customers.
  • Support all manufacturing departments.

What you will be doing...

Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

What we are looking for....

  • High School and 2 years additional education or 2 years relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance #LI-MH1

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
